(Haile Selassie I Foundation).

The premise of the Haile Selassie I Foundation is the revival of the late Emperor’s charitable endeavors. We hereby invite all humanitarian organizations and individuals who remember and revere His Majesty’s work, as well as those who are interested in aiding the underprivileged members of society, of whom women and children are the most affected,to join us in building upon the legacy of Emperor Haile Selassie’s goodwill work.

We believe that the most effective way to continue His Majesty’s work is to collaborate on development projects both within Ethiopia and internationally, to provide assistance and give voice to those who need urgent aid. The Haile Selassie I Foundation is a U.S. Registered 501 (c) (3) Non-profit Organization, legally recognized in the District of Columbia and the State of Virginia. The Haile Selassie I Foundation and its charitable work is not affiliated with any political group or organization.

Currently The Haile Selassie I Foundation operates as an inclusive agency of aid, opening its doors to all in order to establish a meeting ground for those who can provide
sustainable assistance and those who need help the most.

Dr. Bekele Molla President/CEO of Haile Selassie I International Development Foundation Received Certificate of Appreciation from DC Language Act Coalition in the presence of Councilman, James Graham: Under the Chairmanship of Councilman James Graham, the DC City Council Committee held hearings on the "DC Language Access Act" in 2003. Dr. Bekele Molla testified at the hearing by making a spirited presentation about the need to include Amharic (Ethiopia's official national language) as one of six new official languages to be used by DC public service agencies. Mayor Williams signed the act into law on April 21, 2004. In a ceremony held in DC Dr. Bekele was one of the recipients of an award certificate given by the DC Language Access Act Coalition. Councilman Jim Graham traveled to Ethiopia and stayed for a month in July 2004 to learn the language.    FULL TESTIMONY
